TRANSILVANIA FASHION FESTIVAL 2024

The 2024 edition of the Transilvania Fashion International Festival concluded on Sunday after three spectacular evenings that further solidified Cluj’s reputation as a major center of European and international fashion.

The fourth edition of the Transilvania Fashion Festival (FTF) took place between September 6–8, 2024, on the Esplanade of the Urban Culture Center Casino in Central Park, Cluj-Napoca. The event was organized by the Pro Transilvania Cultural Association and the “Produs de Cluj” Association, in collaboration with the European Fashion Council (EFC) and FashionTV, with the support of the City Hall of Cluj-Napoca and the Cluj County Council. The festival’s mission was to amplify the visibility of fashion designers’ talent on the international stage.

On a state-of-the-art catwalk, more than 100 models showcased creations by 112 designers from 10 countries, including Romania, Italy, Germany, Serbia, and China. The international section emphasized the global dimension of the event. Among the Romanian participants were Cătălin Botezatu, Romanița Iovan, and Kinga Varga, while Sanja Velickovic (Serbia) and Fabiana Ferri (Italy) stood out among the international designers.

FTF President Dr. Matei Miko, alongside EFC President Nadya Valeva and EFC Executive President Anca Bălan, highlighted the festival as an excellent platform to showcase creativity and talent from around the world.

Awards and Highlights

The Gala of Laureates, the high point of the second festival night, honored excellence and creativity in fashion through a series of special awards:

“Spiritus Mentor” Award: Prof. Dr. Elena Basso-Stănescu, for her outstanding mentorship and support of young designers.
“Moda cum Laude” Award: Romanița Iovan, for her significant contribution to the development of Romanian fashion.
European Fashion Council Brand Ambassador: Anca Zaharia, Executive Producer and Lecturer.
Transilvania Fashion Festival Brand Ambassadors: Raluca Soare and Carmichal Byfield.
Honorary Diplomas: awarded to designers Inga Brăgaru, Tudor Halațiu, Paul Palm, and Monika Gruber for their remarkable contributions.
Diploma of Merit – Young Designers Section: Raul Matiș, Mihnea Covaci, Alexandra Constantinescu, and Ionuț Răzvan, recognized for originality and artistic execution.

This year, the organizers also revived the tradition of recognizing the models who contribute to the success of the event through the “Transilvania Fashion Festival Top Model” trophy:

Atmosphere and Venue

The Esplanade of the Urban Culture Center Casino, with the historic Casino building and the artesian fountain as its elegant backdrop, provided a charming setting for the event. Designed as an open-air amphitheater, the venue transformed Central Park into a fashion and art celebration platform.

The 2024 Transilvania Fashion Festival set new standards for fashion events in Romania, receiving praise for its artistic level, designer diversity, and exceptional organization.

The 2025 edition already promises to bring even more surprises, expanding to four full days dedicated to fashion.
